About Me
Rachel Barnes
Hello, my name is Rachel Barnes, and I am pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics at Northeastern University. Along with my studies, I have developed a passion for the field of Mechanical Design, for I have obtained my CSWP. I was also the Head of Challenge Design for Survivor Northeastern, through which I have designed and executed 15 unique challenges. I am also interested in manufacturing and gained valuable experience in the field through my role as Application Engineer Co-op at Applied Plastics. Additionally, my contribution to my Intro to Airframe team through the AeroNU organization at Northeastern University has sparked my interest in the Aerospace field.
Throughout my high school and college career, I have learned lots of logistical skills. From my internship at Northwestern Mutual to my year-long role as Scholarship Director of Phi Sigma Rho, I have learned how to be an effective communicator. In my free time, I love to dance and have choreographed a dance routine for my sorority to raise money for charity. Additionally, I love to travel and spent the summer of 2023 in London studying the intersection of philosophy and the technical sciences.

In my free time, I can be found exploring Boston or playing strategic social games with the CBS Survivor Club at Northeastern!

I am currently searching for my second Co-Op for Summer/Fall 2025. Please feel free to look over my resume and my portfolio to learn more about my journey as an engineer, designer, and learner.
